Ebbene sì, mi trovo in Colombia! E' qui che sono nata.
E questi sono i colori della bandiera, perfettamente rappresentati dalla livrea di Ara macao o Guacamaya bandera.
A ripensarci sembra incredibile ma al risveglio del primo mio giorno qui ne ho viste ben due di questi che volavano fuori dalla finestra, non ne avevo mai viste prima in libertà e tanto meno in volo, è raro vederle in città o nei centri abitati. Io mi trovo vicino a un ruscello, mi spiego così la loro presenza da queste parti.
Comunque sia l'ho preso come un buon augurio per la mia permanenza qui.
Questi tre esemplari invece li ho fotografati in un bellissimo mural nel "ristorante" dell' Alto de Minas (un valico nel departamento de Antioquia) a 2600 m.s.l.m. Vi parlo di "ristorante", perché nelle zone isolate lungo le strade in Colombia, si trovano dei piccoli locali all'aperto, con cucina, detti "estaderos", e sono qualcosa di veramente caratteristico in questo paese.

Yes, you read it well. I'm in Colombia! This is where I was born.
The plumage of the two samples of Ara macao or Guacamaya bandera in the picture, perfectly represents the colors of the national flag.
In my first morning here I saw two of them flying out of the window, which is a very rare experience. I had never seen one flying free. Ara macao is rarely seen in cities but I explain this sighting because of the proximity to the brook nearby.
The three birds in the picture were painted in beautiful mural photographed by me in a "restaurant" in the Alto de Minas (a crossing place in the departamento de Antioquia). I say "restaurant" because in remote areas in Colombia you can find caracteristic and rustic eateries along the street that aren't exactly restaurants.
