This one talks about traditions,

identity and old crafts 

and also about objects made from the heart.

Posso definirmi cliente abituale di mercatini delle pulci, mercatini locali o di artigianato folcloristico.

Potrei perdere ore intere percorrendoli, curiosando tra i vari negozi o bancarelle. 


Vorrei comprare un po' di tutto e riesco 
 sempre a trovare qualche grata sorpresa o qualche oggetto 
che magari cercavo da tempo e che non trovavo da nessuna parte..

I'm a regular client of flea markets and local markets and a big fan of folk arts and crafts.

I could spend hours around these markets and I would buy a bit 'of everything if I could. 

 I always find pleasant surprises or maybe objects I had been looking for, 

but couldn't find anywhere else;

sometimes it's like these objects were waiting for me.

In Colombia l'artigianato di ceramica e terracotta è una delle tradizioni superstiti della cultura indigena che
risale a diversi secoli prima dell'arrivo degli spagnoli.
Successivamente ha ricevuto qualche influenza spagnola  sia per quanto riguarda le tecniche che i soggetti rappresentati.

Questi manufatti sono conosciuti per il loro carattere folcloristico, e per la loro magnifica qualità, che li rende anche prodotti di esportazione.

In Colombia pottery crafts have existed for several centuries. This artristy had been practiced for centuries before the arrival of Spaniards, allowing indigenous traditions to survive 'till our days.

Later on, both techniques and subjects, received also Spanish influences. 

The main features of these handicrafts are their folk character, and their excellent quality
 making them also export-quality products.

Adoro le infinite sfumature della terracotta, che rendono unico ogni pezzo;

e il suo odore minerale e primitivo, senza pretese. 

La terracotta è frutto del contatto dell'uomo con la terra.

I love the infinite shades of terra cotta that make each piece unique.

I love its' smell: mineral and primitive, humble and unpretentious;

it embodies connection between man and earth.

Questi oggetti raccontano storie di popoli.

La materia di cui son fatti è plasmata dalla terra,

dall'acqua e dal fuoco, dal legno o dal metallo.

E' legata alla natura.

The stuff of which they are made is shaped by earth, 

fire and water, metal and wood. 

It's tied to nature.
